RECIPE FOR PASTA IN BEETROOT SAUCE
INGREDIENTS:
- 120 grams or 1 cup macaroni pasta
- small sized beetroot
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 tsp plain flour (maida)
- 1 ¼ cup chilled milk
- ½ cup grated cheese
- 1 tsp finely chopped garlic(optional)
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp oil
- Salt to taste
METHOD:
Wash beetroot and chop into 2-3 big pieces, place them in a container with little water and pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles, drain the water, peel the skin and blend into a puree. Keep it aside.
Set pasta aside for boiling in a pan for 8-10 minutes, add pinch of salt and oil to the water.
Heat a pan, add 1 tsp butter let it melt, then add 1 tsp plain flour (Maida) stir it well ,then milk and keep stirring so no lumps are formed, and till it becomes little thick in consistency, add pinch of salt and mix well, add cheese and stir till it melts. Transfer this white sauce in a bowl.
In a pan heat 1 tsp butter sauté chopped garlic sauté for 30 seconds then pour the beetroot puree and sauté again for 1 minute, add the boiled pasta and some salt and oregano and then pour the cheesy white sauce from the bowl and mix well. Healthy food recipes and Yummy pasta in beetroot sauce is ready.
CHEESY SPINACH RICE
INGREDIENTS:
- ½ Cup cooked rice
- 6-7 Spinach leaves
- ½ cup processed cheese
- 1 tsp flour
- 1 ¼ cup chilled milk
- ½ tsp ginger
- ½ tsp crushed garlic
- 2 tsp butter
- Salt to taste
METHOD:
Cook rice and keep it ready.
Wash and blanch spinach leaves, then blend the blanched spinach into a puree in a food processor.
Process for white sauce
Heat 1 tsp butter in a pan add 1 tsp flour, mix well then add milk, little salt and keep stirring so no lumps are formed and till it gets sauce like consistency. Add cheese and stir till it melts. Transfer in a bowl. Keep it aside.
In a deep bottom pan heat 1 tsp butter add ginger garlic paste, now pour the spinach puree and little salt and sauté for 1 minute. Add cooked rice mix well, then pour the cheesy white sauce and mix well. Yummy cheesy spinach rice are ready. Serve immediately.
APPLE CARROT SOUP RECIPE
This soup is very soothing for kids when down with cold and flu.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- ½ cup chopped apple
- 1 cup chopped onions
- ½ tsp nutmeg powder
- 1-2 clove garlic
- 1 /2 tsp crushed ginger
- 1 tsp butter or ghee
- Pink salt2
- ½ cups water
METHOD
Heat butter or ghee in a soup pan, then add the crushed ginger garlic paste & onions and sauté till they become soft. Add carrots sprinkle some salt sauté for a minute then add apples sauté for a minute. Add 1 ½ cup water and let it boil for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the broth cool to room temperature.
Pour the broth in a food processor and blend it into a puree. Strain it back in the soup pot add salt and nutmeg powder and simmer for 2 minutes. Delicious soup is ready.
